Need to mellow out. Need to mellow out. Need to mellow out. Need to mellow out. Need to mellow out. Need to mellow out. Need to mellow out. Need to mellow out. Need to mellow out. Need to mellow out.
It’s been a stressful week. Thank God for music. These are the tracks I’ve been listening to this week in an attempt to soothe the mind…
I’m still digging Snow Patrol but I don’t like to be repetitive with my Radio playlists just for the sake of the possibility of introducing loyal readers who like the radio to some new music. I had the wicked cool song “Chocolate” up a few weeks ago and today I heard it playing in the trailer for “The Last Kiss” which stars Zach Braff and was written by Paul Haggis who wrote “Million Dollar Baby” and “Crash”. It comes out in September but Zach Braff did the soundtrack that comes out a month earlier and if it’s anything like the “Garden State” soundtrack it should be something to look forward to. Anyways, you should check out the trailer. I like trailers that just have a damn good song playing. It’s exclusive right now on Zach Braff’s blog (which is also worthy of checking out). That being said, “Make This Go On Forever” is on my radio this week.
Other mellow songs include:
“Half an Acre” – Hem
“Hear You Me” – Jimmy Eat World
“Wonderwall” – Ryan Adams [cool Oasis cover]
“Half A Mind” – The Verve Pipe
“Wheel” – John Mayer [very nostalgic]
Some great oldies like The Eagles “New York Minute” and the beautiful “Fly” by Nick Drake. Also Lauryn Hill’s “To Zion” which has one of the catchiest Santana guitar riff.
Last but not least, my ongoing quest for winning an IPod Nano in the Toot competition is coming to an end in about 4 or 5 days. So if you haven’t voted for me please help a brotha out and do so now. It’s a pretty painless procedure (trust me). I’m in second place right now and I need to stay there.
