In the past I’ve always split my picks into those I’d like to see win and those who i think will win. This time I’m going to just pick the one I think should win and stick with it. It’s a new thing called faith that I’m trying out. I’ve seen most of the movies, every year there’s usually one or two that I’ve missed. Feel free to agree or disagree. And the nominees are.
And the winner is…
Best Picture:
Crash
Best Actor:
Jaquin Phoenix for Walk the Line
Actor in a Supporting Role:
George Clooney for Syriana
Best Actress:
Reese Witherspoon in Walk the Line
Actress in a Supporting Role:
Rachel Weisz in The Constant Gardner
Best Directing:
George Clooney for Good Night & Good Luck
Best Foreign Film:
Paradise Now
Come back during or after Oscar night to make fun of me for my wrong picks.
In other Oscar news:
In all, 25 VIPs are participating in the fourth annual “Red Carpet, Green Cars” event sponsored by Toyota Motor Corp. and the environmental organization Global Green USA. McDormand, Phoenix, Gyllenhaal, Jennifer Aniston and George Clooney are all expected to arrive at the Oscars in Toyota or Lexus hybrids, including the Toyota Prius, Lexus RX crossover and a hybrid version of the Toyota Camry, which goes on sale in May.
Event spokeswoman Kathy Kniss said the program began with just four participants in 2002, but interest in fuel-efficient vehicles has grown exponentially since then. [source]
Wow… you have even put them in categories… unbelievable… i have not seen most of these movies… but i think it is almost impossible to give Georger clooney two oscars.. but who knows?b
i actually thought “crash” was one grand stereotype stacked upon another and heavy handed. felt to me like a remake of the danny glover film, “grand canyon.” my vote would go for “good night, and good luck” or “walk the line”
i have to see “paradise now”…
