How Mickey Mouse Got Beheaded

…Along with Tom & Jerry and the rest of my childhood…

Well, it should be pointed out that I think the brief second of hesitation towards the end suggested the he was aware Mickey is a cartoon and so was being somewhat satirical about the killing of him. Because really, how do you kill a cartoon? Stop drawing it? Also, would this include Hamas’s anti-Israeli Farfour (who I think was killed off)?

Anyways, the western media has had a field day (week) with this bit of news…

But honestly, the only thing I found funny about this whole issue was Emad Hajjaj’s take on it…

Translation: Saudi Cleric calls for the killing of Mickey Mouse!! And a group of cartoon characters responds to the call immediately!!

  • And radicals across the Muslim world begin destroying the small, hand-controlled input devices connected to their computers. Long live the glorious track pad!

  • Naseem dude, you gotta gotta see this… not a really different interpretation of what Mickey is, sho ra2yak?? I think they are all overburdening Mickey elmaskeeen, ya 7araaaaaaam LOOOOL

tab3an this is my piece of entertainment that takes place on campus almost every other day after a long day at the library!
    enjoy! 🙂
(i sent this msg multiple times, but you’re black-iris isn’t allowing it through.. hope it goes through this time)

  • Like Dave, I was worried about the future of my little mouse. Personally, I’m usesless with the touch pad (always bumping it and facing premature messaging). I hope they won’t be storming into houses taking them away anytime soon…

  • If there’s one reason I would kill Mickey it would be for his superbly annoying voice of his! ARGH! haha.

I LOVE the reference of Fatoota in Hajjaj’s cartoon =)

  • i think this all is unfair. and untrue.

i understand you are looking for a source of amusement, and that western media is looking for a source of amusment about saudi arabia and islam. but none of what was reported is correct, its all out of context, what the man is talking about is how the influence of other cultures is changing some concepts in ours, he is criticizing that, he is saying that a mouse as a creature is something not desired and najis in islam definition and changing him into a beloved creature for our children is not a good thing, its a foreign concept to us, and then he said look how children now love mice after tom and jerry, a mouse is a great character now, and also mickey mouse, and the correct image is that a mouse is a filthy creature and it ruins food etc, this mickey mouse is a mouse and it should be killed like all other mice, in both 7il and i7ram, and he laughed after that (of course, naturally, the laugh was cut from your video, hmmmmm, only the first part of second of it appears in your video.

he didnt even mention beheading, he didnt seriously talk about killing mikey mouse, and i think that your entire post is unfair and just as happy about creating a reason to laugh at a saudi shekh as CNN and FOX.

you helped spreading a lie Naseem.

  • and, please, please always be super extra careful with anything that comes from MEMRI TV, its a seriously horrible, most biased and most determinate party i have ever seen, always doing its very best to show that Islam is bad, forget about their propoganda of “analysing religious programs to understand how an average person thinks” all what they ever do is like this video, misquote and get things out of context to make Islam and/or Muslims look bad. oh and, its US-based (2i77im) and promoted by CNN and FOX news. what do you expect man?!!!!

  • Notice how in the other video you posted, all of them say how the saudi shekh called mickey mouse a soldier of satan and ordered him to be killed or executed, which is a mere lie.

and in the original video of MEMRI, they translated mofsid as corrupting, playing on words, obviosuly he meant mofsid as in mukharrib, not as in morally corrupting, he said it ruins food and starts fires etc. word of the day: avoid MEMRI. THEY are corrupting!

  • Khalid: first of all, calm yourself down.

second of all, i’m not helping in the spreading of a lie or anything of that matter nor is this post intended to “have a laugh”, so i would appreciate it if you keep your unjust accusations to yourself.

third of all, i deliberately posted the second video to counter the first. it clearly indicates how the whole situation is something based on an infatuation by western media.

fourth of all, stop calling it MY video. I posted the memri video because i think most of my readers are already familiar with memri and its background. so it’s THEIR video.

fifth of all, i did point out that he was likely being satirical.

sixth, even in being satirical, a cleric of his prominence should know better. there is a problem with articulating islam these days and that should be recognized. not everyone with a background in the religion should be allowed a microphone and a pulpit.

lastly, putting mickey and jerry aside, i disagree with his point of view regarding mice either way. and judging by the way you’ve framed your defense, i’m assuming that would be a view you subscribe to as well.

  • I just wanted to add to what naseem said:
Khalid, Do you see the children of I don’t know where petting mice? This is just stupid and it doesn’t make sense. I guess based on his logic, we should be seeing a significant portion of our youth putting collars on their mice. And also him having a beard and being called a scholar doesn’t make him immune from being either silly or subject to criticism.

  • I am sorry naseem please t7ammalni, i just want to give another example of the work of MEMRI, look at this video they chose to translate to english and put on youtube, to some out-of-his-mind man claiming that according to quran, earth is flat, and also claims that earth is bigger than sun, and also claims that sun rotates around earth and not the other way around.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7F5kYWceTsI

and in the tape, the out-of-his-mind man tells them how he rejects all modern science info because it is not included in the quran.

of course, every bit of what he said is completely wrong, and every muslim that reads quran should be aware of the evidences that show that earth is rounded, and no muslims i ever met, and believe me i meet all kind of muslims in my travels, ever said they believe that earth is flat, because thats simply against whats writen in quran, and against what we all know very well now, and quran cant possibly say something that is against a scientific fact like that. but still, MEMRI managed to FIND that one person, and then translated his crazy lines, and put it to the world to see as an example of what muslims believe, know what i mean?!

  • Naseem, i understand, but look at your title, and you also provided the cartoon of abu mahjoub, which goes along the same path, you seem to adopt their point of view.

and Muhanned, just because the man has a beard, doesnt make him immune to anything, but it doesnt automatically allow you or anyone else to redicule him or criticize him on wrong bases, misquoting and lies.

Naseem, why havent you bother clerifying all what i said then, that its clear that he was misquoted and misrepresented, since the MEMRI tape is in arabic and your blog is in english and as you said is directed to the world? dont you expect that alot of your readers dont speak arabic and hence wont be able to understand the pack of lies in the english video? where is your responsibility towards your readers? just putting the arabic video for an english-based blog with AT LEAST SOME readers that dont speak arabic, gibing it that title and providing the cartoon with it, and not explaining the lies and misunderstanding in translation and quoting, JUST HAS TO SAY SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR VIEW.

  • “and put it to the world to see as an example of what muslims believe”
What about rephrasing it to: what muslims are made to believe. Don’t you think that this way it makes more sense?
And to those so called scholars, I think they should know that when they are talking the world is listenning. I would also assume that the this scholar didn’t know that mice are used for scientific experimentation, because if he knew he would have probably mentioned it, but at this day and age a combination of beard, a recitment of some verses, and a story telling capability make you a scholar.

  • and really Naseem, “any person with background in religion” ? you really have no idea who is this man do you?

and Naseem, just because you “think” that ” most of your readers are already familiar with memri and its background, which i greatly doubt, they are not famous at all, doesnt make it ok, doesnt make it ok naseem, you HAVE to, just HAVE to explain that those are one of the most quistionable people on earth, that you do NOT agree with their interpretations and do NOT support them, where is YOUR opinion in the middle of all this?

  • Again, you said: ” dont you expect that alot of your readers dont speak arabic and hence wont be able to understand the pack of lies in the english video?”

The reply would be: Why don’t you direct this question to the so called scholar, shouldn’t he know that there are people out there who know both arabic and english who will translate his words?

And what is up with satan soldiers? I mean come on! You got annoyed becaue some of his words “were taken out of context” and not annoyed by the fact that except for health reasons none of what he uttered is reasonable!

  • muhanned, have you ever heard any scholar, or any muslim, or anyone at all, that believe earth is flat?

    even YOU cant say that.

what you just said, is as bad as what MEMRI said, no its not true, no body ever promotes this idea, scholar or not, that earth is flat, have you ever heard in your life anyone that does?

this is a straight lie muhanned.

muslims are made to believe by who? by “them” ? **creepy background voice**

oh wow so now you know that person and you know that he doesnt know that mice are used for scientific experiments, how accurate and unbiased is that! and just because mice are used in scientific experiments doesnt make them any cleaner or less nijseen, shit is used in variety of scientific needs to, to produce methane and run boilers and as samad and to produces SO3 and many other things, that doesnt make shit any cute or less disgusting, and its not or relivence to mention it when saying that shit is not cute and is filthy and najis, is it?

  • there is nothing that he said shouldnt be translated to english, he said nothing wrong, he explained muslim beliefs according to a7adeeth, its true the 7adeeth about fowaysiqa, its true that mouses are considered nijseen, spiritualy wise nijseen, not hygienic wise only, the only part that is questionable is that he called them jonood il shay6an, that as far as i know -and i did some little search- is not true. and its not true not because it doesnt make sense to you, muhanned, its not true because there doesnt seem to be any 7adeeth to back it up. if there is, it would be. its not his job to make you believe it, and its not an issue of if it sounds reasonable to you, its the issue of if its correct sharee3a-wise.

  • Yes by them, you know, the “scholars”, many of whom are simply illiterate.

“oh wow so now you know that person and you know that he doesnt know that mice are used for scientific experiments, how accurate and unbiased is that!”

Just as accurate as your take on the whole issue. If he knew why didn’t he say so? He knew they were soldiers of satan, and he knew they were filthy and might transmit diseases, so why throw the other facts away? Or maybe it is just one of those “they want to corrupt our children by their mice’?

As for sh!t, I hear they use it as fertilizers? You know, for food, that you actually eat..

And lets not play games, don’t shift the argument to “the earth is flat”..

  • Nas. I think posting it without a clear opinion will cause this kind of debate ,
First , I don’t like the way things were taking out of context,
Second , you still don’t agree that mices carry bacteria and they run and collect jerms that can kill you???
Mices carry lots of diseases and they can affect the health of our children and us. Fa please when Prophet Mohammad says something he knows better , dirt and unhealthy houses are against Islamic Teachings. Fa you choose who you would like to believe .
Second , in your post you were sarcastic , and in your reply to Khlid you were defensive , i have seen you reply on posts but this time you calm down man , we all respect you and know who you are and what you write just simply keep it fair from your side.
Third , Mocking our great scholars and their teachings is what exactly he was telling us not to do. See the Mouse is not clean and it was forbidden to pet , the mouse carries lots of jerms, Bacteria and diseases so we were ordered to kill if found in the house and to through the food if the mouse fell in it or ate from it , now the cartoons which we all love made it hard on us to do so , or even to accept protecting our selves and children from the dirt that little cute mouse brings to our bodies .

This is what i am talking about , KHALID is totally right. This is not a 6th grade blog it is for grown ups.

  • “and its not true not because it doesnt make sense to you, muhanned, its not true because there doesnt seem to be any 7adeeth to back it up.”

So if there is no hadeeth to back something up, then it is not true, right? Hell with science and experimentation, we should all sit down and be on the recieveing end, and while at it, why don’t we assign you and the scholar to scientific journals where you set on the review borads to decide if it is backed up by hadeeth!

  • “you seem to adopt their point of view…….where is YOUR opinion in the middle of all this?”

I omitted my opinion because it’s irrelevant here and I was also not in the mood quite frankly to be attacked. it seems that attempt was futile on my part.

Information is sometimes presented and is left up to the reader to decide in an attempt to generate neutral debate, whether on this blog or elsewhere. Whether it is presented in one way or another, be it objectively or subjectively. I presented both videos, pointed out that he was probably being satirical, and that it was mostly a western media infatuation.

As for the hajjaj cartoon – and I never imagined myself having to defend a cartoon, which is unfortunately what this sort of argument has come to – but I frankly found it funny as hajjaj tackled something religious without bringing religion in to it, and instead took a pop-culture approach. It’s a cartoon for God’s sake, everyone can interpret it differently and it doesn’t necessarily mean you subscribe to one single view.

And by the way, this cartoon and my title is no more satirical than this sheik’s “laugh” that mickey mouse should be killed, which I pointed out in very first line of this post.

As for MEMRI, I trust my readers know enough about the organization by now and their infamous mistranslations, given that they have such a great track record of it. It was also mentioned several times in that exact context on this very blog in the past. There is precedent, I didn’t see a need to quote the precedent when I posted this.

“you really have no idea who is this man do you?”

oh man, stop being patronizing. there’s really no need for it. i’m trying my best to respond to you respectfully.

I said, only one line above that very quote that: “a cleric of his prominence should know better”. Of course I know who he is and his background. How does this take from my argument that despite his prominence and knowledge it does not mean he is great at articulating his point of view. And compared to other scholars I’ve seen he really isn’t, and no, that conclusion is not based on this one video. The same goes for many others. But this is just an opinion and i won’t state it as fact as there’s already too much of that going on around here.

  • i think you havent even read what i wrote have you? because it already answers what you just said:
i said in my previous reply: and just because mice are used in scientific experiments doesnt make them any cleaner or less nijseen, shit is used in variety of scientific needs to, to produce methane and run boilers and as samad and to produces SO3 and many other things, that doesnt make shit any cute or less disgusting, and its not or relivence to mention it when saying that shit is not cute and is filthy and najis, is it?

and no, human beings dont eat food fertilized by shit, for that matter, its illegal. y3ni animal poops only 😀

an illiterate scholar? **laughs* you know that to be a scholar you need to read, how can you be an illetarete scholar? would you please give us one example of one illiterate in the entire world? i want an answer for that, i am holding you to that statement, provide and example of an illitarate scholar, and an example of any scholar that calls for muslims to believe that earth is flat. or otherwise you will be labled as an unrealiable source of information. yalla i am waiting.

I repeat, i am waiting for an example of two claims you made, which will determine your credibility.

ana ma ma biddi nirjom il mar2a yakhoy, ana biddi torjam izzaniyah, i wish that never happens that mara t9eer zaniyah, zay ma batmanna ma 7ada yisroq wala 7ad yoqtol, bas itha 7ada 3imilha bistahil il 3iqab. and mish ana illy 3milt il qanoon yakhoy, il islam 3imloh, o itha mish 3ajbak mish moshkilih, bi3jib il muslimeen, ma 7addish jabarak tiqtini3.

    o bali 6aweeeeeeel, o warak warak la 7ad ma tba66il kithib o tis7ab il false statements illy 3milt.hom.

  • A scholar to you(and many like you) is something subjective, so I guess you can keep your scholars, and I will keep mine.

“you know that to be a scholar you need to read, how can you be an illetarete scholar? ”
YES reading makes you a scholar, this is the most stupid argument I have ever heard in my entire life-and assuming you dind’t mean it that way I would say that I meant figurative literacy, you know, like when someone actually knows what he is talking about, not just throwing fatwas here and there, someone who actually analyzes what he read, and even go beyond analysis to provide new knowledge, but you wouldn’t know that, would you?

As for an illiterate scholar(based on your narrow definition of the ability to read): PROPHET MOHAMMED..In your face….Toucheeeee me…

  • Aba Abdellah Omar Ibno Abi Adey: thanks for the comment. to clear up a few things.

“I think posting it without a clear opinion will cause this kind of debate ,”

My intention, as always, was to create a debate, perhaps not this kind of debate, but a debate on the issue nonetheless.

“you still don’t agree that mices carry bacteria and they run and collect jerms that can kill you???”

My opinion: I agree that they do carry germs, both science and history have proven that time and time again. However, science and history have also proven, time and time again that mice, given their genetic likeness to human beings, are one of the most beneficial creatures used in modern-day science that have generated substantial medical discoveries. Surely this cannot be denied. And surely the idea that we need to be absolutist and slaughter every mouse that comes our way isn’t necessarily an idea that has considered their benefits.

“Second , in your post you were sarcastic , and in your reply to Khlid you were defensive , i have seen you reply on posts but this time you calm down man”

First, my sarcasm was at no higher levels than that of the clerics when he mentioned the killing of mickey. Second, I tend to get defensive when someone wrongfully accuses me of something such as spreading lies. It’s not a fair or kind statement for that matter, and having it come from a fellow muslim (and in the last 10 days of ramadan no less) is, at least in my eyes, wrong and deserves a rebuttal.

“now the cartoons which we all love made it hard on us to do so , or even to accept protecting our selves and children from the dirt that little cute mouse brings to our bodies .”

wow. i highly disagree. i mean, i’m sorry but watching a cartoon about a cat chasing a mouse through the house never made me or any kid i ever know want to pick up a mouse and pet it. wile e. coyote often defied gravity for several moments at a time before splattering to the ground and going back to his antic in the next scene. watching that did not make me thing that if i fell of a cliff i would survive.

  • 😀

very cute. prohpet mu7ammed’s illetaracy was a MIRACLE itself, it proves MY point, that nobody can gather a huge ammount of information while being ILLITERATE.

and just for any scholar to be a scholar, relatively or not, it requires few decades of researches, few decades at minimum, to be considered a scholar. of researching, writing and reading. but its still subjective.

but still, its totally un-related to anything we said here, that some people some where that are not related to anything we are talking about here give fatwas without having enough knowledge, a statement that has became a song for people that cant find anything to criticize about islam and then repeat it whenever they can, even when its not related to the subject of question.

this man, has full knowledge of what he is talking about, and he is a well known scholar.

so your point of mentioning that there are scholars that illiterate scholars int he oh-wow-so-broad definition of yours came up in the conversation because…. ?!

nobody in the world, muslim or not, disagree that nobody should give Fatwa unless they are knowledgable enough, dont you think? you only mentioned this song to avoid what i said again. you claimed that, “them” “illiterate scholars” in the oh-my-i-am-so-schocked broad definition, call for muslims to believe that earth is flat. prove it, i am still waiting.

and why, if not, do you have to argue and take the other side of the debate and defend it, desperately try to find something wrong about what the shekh said, trying to suggest he is illiterate (of course you would be illiterate if you suggest that, basing on who he is) and try to sing us the song of not everyone should give a fatwa, whats your interest in that muhanned? MIMRI-kind of intentions?

  • Naseem, you are correct, you did mention he was a prominent scholar, i missed that while replying, i am sorry for that.

and the fact that i said that you helped in spreadign a lie doesnt mean i am accusign you fo lying man, all i am saying: you are a smart and well educated persona and people respect your opinion, NOT mentioning and not clearing the depth of lies in the provided videos, is itself allowing the lie to spread, you know what i men bro? that is what fawwar dammi, that i know who you are, and still you didnt say a word to explain how its a big lie done by an unbiased ill-intentioned party. the fact that you refrained from doing that is what upset me. this is in my opinion, naseem, not an issue where you dont mention your opinion and leave it to debate, explain what you believe, explain that there is a lie, a misquoting that is damaging to the reputation of a follow muslim scholar, show that this is not what you believe, because people respect you and believe you, and if you dont clearly explain that there is something deeply wrong with that english video, they will, basing on trusting you, assume that nothing is wrong with it. they are dont nessesarly have psychic abilities and maybe a little bit of them might misunderstand you the way i said and think that you believe nothing is wrong with it. do you want to risk that?

i understand how i get all hojoomi when i see that, and then you get all difa3i and that leads nowhere. when i am all hojoomi ignore my craziness and address my points please 🙂 what i want is for readers to aknoledge the points i mentioned, not you, i know you know them, and i would have emailed you what i want if i want to address YOU. but i am addressig people that might have been fooled by the english video and believed it. know what i mean bro?

    ramadan kareem for you.

  • and, dont worry about not killing mice becasuse they are important in scienfitic experiments, scientists dont use our housse-mouse for experiments they use white mice and ghini pigs. and either way their breed their own mice y3ni. killing house-mice is what innabi 3alayhi i99alat wassalam wa99ana to do:) its the recommendation of prophet Muhammed, and he knows better, Muslims believe, ma yan6iqo 3an hawa in howa illa wa7yon yow7a 🙂

  • “i mean, i’m sorry but watching a cartoon about a cat chasing a mouse through the house never made me or any kid i ever know want to pick up a mouse and pet it”

    You wanna bet???

I tried jumping a few times , or put a fork under someone sitting on the chair 🙂 it did effect my judgment sorry for that person but it did.

This is what i was talking about my friend , anyway I get your point , i see where you stand , I totally respect it , but yet , I will never disagree with what we have in Sharee3a with a Disney land cartoon. Two different schools man totally opposite. ” that was a joke”

Thank you for clearing this Naseem .
The strange thing is how can media turn the whole story upside down and make us and every body in the world look at Islam from a very tight angle …. “BOLD”

  • You know how debating you is: It is like shouting in a valley and only hearing echo.
    The points:
1- What he said is stupid and doesn’t make sense.
2- He sure suffers from the expert syndrome, knowing something in an area doens’t mean you know everything and deosn’t give you credibilty in talking about everything, this why we now have-wiat for the shock- something called specialization, you can’t specialize in everything and talk about everything because at one point-even if you are a “scholar”- you will say something stupid that will shed doubt on anything that you said, so it is better to shut up and not talk about things you don’t grasp completly knowing that many will listen to yo and take your words as truth.
3- you are not in a position to question anyone’s intention and you have no right to throw: what do you mean and what is your intent, you are not god and you shouldn’t act like you are. My intent in mine and only mine, if it doesn’t fit your holy values then issue a fatwa on me and stone me.
4- This has nothing to do with memri, they have every right to show the ignorance that some in the muslim world have, so instead of bitching about them you should start your own memri and start watching CBN and pat roberston & co and post their videos with your ow translation. Them being biased doesn’t mean that everything that comes from them is false, it might come with some salt and pepper, but if you are emotional and defensive that you get offended by everything out there then I suggest you live in a bubble, or maybe try anger management.
5- instead of attacking the messanger, try to fix the inside, what he said is tupid period. You defense of his irrational statments makes you sound more like a nut job.
6- You want to be shocked: There are muslims who still burry their daughters, there are muslims who marry their 7 years daughter, there are muslim who kill their sisters, there are muslim in pakistan who marry their daughters to the quran, yes the quran, there are just toooo many things that is happenning, and until you have the guts to admit that we are not perfect, you will always be blind.

And stop making the issue about mice: I didn’t see any children petting mice, and by the way they don’t look anything like mickey mouse.

And no need to be sarcastic, because you are a hypocrite, and you only use the web to reduce your coginitive dissoanance, if you are a true muslim(based on you logic) you shouldn’t be living in a country like jordan or for that matter any place in the arab world. Or maybe you are waiting for your chance to shove your beliefs down everyones throught by force? Are YOU? WHAT are your intentions? BIN LADEN’s? TALIBAN’s? WHO?

    🙂

  • hypocrite is the right word. Ah , the beauty of blaming the west of our own shortcomings!

MEMRI or not, translation or not, what the “sheikh” said is complete nonsense, so deal with it!!

  • “now the cartoons which we all love made it hard on us to do so , or even to accept protecting our selves and children from the dirt that little cute mouse brings to our bodies .”

But if you take this thinking to its logical conclusion, all media everywhere should be banned.

“muhanned, have you ever heard any scholar, or any muslim, or anyone at all, that believe earth is flat?”

Actually, that argument HAS been made – and fairly recently too.

I don’t know if the “religious scholar” in question was Muslim, but it just goes to show.

“Scholars” and “experts” make indefensible statements all the time.

  • Muhammad Arrabi, Moses is still here–stronger than ever!
guess he’ll continue preaching on campus until some fed-up student gives him a blow, and the uni compensates him with $$.. i heard he makes a living out of such incidents LOL

  • oh muhanned replied! 😀

    alright! lets see whats what!

as for 1. thats in your opinion, that counters muslims belief, he merely stated facts based on 2a7adeeth 9a7ee7a, so according to muslim belief he didnt say anything stupid, if you dont believe in muslim beliefs, thats your choice, but it doesnt give you the right to call it stupid, thats very intolerate and very unrespectful.

    2. Thats just another song. and an un-related one, of course.

3.what do you mean yours and yours only? 😀 and why would i stone you if they dont fit my values? and who said that they dont fit my values? why dont you clear your intentions in public to see whats what, instead of being defensive and going “they are mine mine mine only mine i am not sharing”? you are writing lengthly replies defending a party that made lies against a muslim scholar, misquoted him and presented it in a way out of context, and you are defending that strongly, i have every right to question your intention as well as your credibility, which will come, khalleek ma3i.

    4. ha! not true, they are not biased, they are ill-intentioned, go do some search about them and you will see that they systematically choose, translate, twist and brodcast things that aim to distort worlds view of islam and muslims, they have a clear direction in that duty. and hence, its at least wise to question everything that comes from them, and dig it up very well. emotional and defensive and hide? what have you seen in your life yakhoy, the biggest fight you have been through in your life is probably this debate with me, i have survived bombs and rockets, bullets and siege, while you were hanging in star bucks. dont give me the “if you are emotional hide in a bubble” my friend, i am made to burst bubbles. and i am not angry. i am firm in defending what i believe in.
“you get offended by everything out there then I suggest you live in a bubble”? HUH! after being through battles and wars, i have been blogging since…before the beginning of history, debating Americans that supported and still support and defend the bombing that killed piles of people i know. “ifyou get offended by everything out there then I suggest you live in a bubble”? a joke coming from a pampered Ammani.

5.i am not attacking the messenger, thats a spin: i am attacking twisting what he said, putting it out of context, mistranslating it, and then turning it into something that doesnt make sense and spreading it to the world. i dont think that what he said is wrong at all.

    6. another song. that is of course not even remotely related to the topic. i am collecting the songs i hear from the world, all of them together from you. i should just write a list of them and number them for future reference.

“cognitive dissonance” 2eh il kalam il kibeer dah 😀

“because you are a hypocrite, and you only use the web to reduce your coginitive dissoanance, if you are a true muslim(based on you logic) you shouldn’t be living in a country like jordan or for that matter any place in the arab world. ”

what on earth are you talking about?!!! who on earth taught you that? no wonder you think there are “illiterate scholars” that make people believe that earth is flat. where have you been living, what have you been reading exactly, to get to that conclusion, if that was a joke you would be the funniest guy in the room, and thats most definetly the silliest thing i ever heard in my entire life. where on earth did you get that from? basing on what? this a thought that never passed my mind, my conscience, my belief, or those of any other one i know for that matter:
    **writes down**
*if you are a true muslim you shouldnt live in the arab world?* wait wait, let me add that to my songs list, its actually a new one that i havent heard before even.

as for my intentions they are to defend and remove injustice falling upon anyone. and i aim to *spread* my beliefs, by explaining them to people, becasue i have deep faith that they speak for themselves, and that all a muslim needs to do is to present them like they are, just remove the peal of misconceptions and lies present by ill-intentioned parties, and they speak for themselves, and the result is very obvious: islam is the fastest spreading religion on earth. and if you dont want to believe, or dont choose to believe, thats your total right and you will have to live with its consequences in the other world, both my father and older brother are secular, but the moment you try to lie or twist a truth about islam, i will be standing right there, at the gate of your throat to shove it back.

(see? i am clear and straightforward and not afraid of demonstrating my intentions)

  • As for the credibility part, i am still waiting for you to back up your claims that illiterate Muslim scholars are trying to make people believe that earth is flat.

it has been what, a day since i challenged you to back up that statement, among other false statements, and you posted many posts in the mean while, and you still havent backed it up.

i want to see either a clear example, of a systematic, stream of scholars, of any sect or direction, that are trying to make people believe that earth is flat.

i have initially asked you to show me one single person that beleives that, or preaches that, and you obviosuly failed to, but i think that even one person isnt an evidence at all, i want to see the trend, the stream, the dedicated thought, that preaching series of books, or speeches, or tv or radio episodes, anything that indicates any presence of any tendency or patern at all, at all, of people that either believe or preach that earth is flat.

and this must be the third time i remind you of this?

so you either bring us the evidence, or you apologize in public for making that false statement and take it back.

    thank you:)

  • ” so according to muslim belief he didnt say anything stupid”
Soldiers of satan is part of your belief? Good for you.

“if you dont believe in muslim beliefs”
You are in no poisiotn to question my beliefs, but I guess if you are actaully defending a silly and stupid argument like the one made by your scholar, well, then this is not surprising.

“Thats just another song. and an un-related one, of course.”
That is the whole issue, as a matter of fact that is one of the main reasons why muslims are where they are. I think he has a degree in enegineering or something, he also worked in the saudi embassy in the US of A. For the latter, what kind of hypocrisy is that? He wroked for an “unislamic” regime, that is in bed with america, in america. Then he didn’t support any of his arguments with scientific arguments, accoridng to him, we should be seeing mice every where, last time I checked I didn’t see that, and oh I am now in the US and I don’t see people buying their kids mice, as a matter of fact if they see one they call the pest control.

“instead of being defensive and going “they are mine mine mine only mine i am not sharing”?”
They are Mine, and you have no right-at least- according to islam. I don’t recall the exact words of it, but I think at one point it was said that only god judges people’s intentions. So if you don’t believe in that I guess this qualifies you to be called snoopy 🙂

“i am made to burst bubbles. ”
WOW, Don’t get emotional. I am sorry for what you have been through, but this deosn’t make your argument stronger. And this has nothing to do- at least in my opinion- with the silly arguments made by both you and the so called scholar, who by the way, should know better when he utters things that he knows will be takes as representative of some of what muslims believe. But how would he know that if he has the expert syndrome?

“while you were hanging in star bucks”
How did you know that? Now you just sound more silly. And let me ask you this: I think you are an Iraqi brother, right? Where are you now? The morale: Don’t preach.

“a joke coming from a pampered Ammani”
Pampered Ammani? I mean Come on man, this is just getting stupid, you simply have no argument and now you are throwing insults not only to me but to the people of amman! Shame on you. But I guess this is why you are who you are, your experinces-in your mind- give you the right to look down to anyone who didn’t go through what you went through. I suggest you take a step back and just think about what you just said and apologize, not for me, because I don’t care, but for the “ammani” people whom you look down at. Oh, and talk about Ego 🙂

“i dont think that what he said is wrong at all.”
And that my friend, is, what, is, wrong, with you.

“i am collecting the songs i hear from the world, all of them together from you.”
Now thats just “first graders” stuff, don’t you think?

“thats most definetly the silliest thing i ever heard in my entire life.”
    Are you sure?

“this a thought that never passed my mind, my conscience, my belief, or those of any other one i know for that matter”
Of course you wouldn’t know, or otherwise you wouldn’t be doing it, DUH.

” becasue i have deep faith that they speak for themselves”
They sure do, they sure do 😉

“islam is the fastest spreading religion on earth”
    Organically.

“but the moment you try to lie or twist a truth about islam, i will be standing right there, at the gate of your throat to shove it back”
You are talking to the wrong person.

“see? i am clear and straightforward and not afraid of demonstrating my intentions”
    Good for you.

“As for the credibility part, i am still waiting for you to back up your claims that illiterate Muslim scholars are trying to make people believe that earth is flat.”
Dude, stop it! This is just stupid, you threw that in and never dropped it, it is like you are debating yourself.

“and you posted many posts in the mean while, and you still havent backed it up.”
If common sense isn’t enough for you, then I guess whatever is said won’t make any difference, don’t you think?

“i want to see either a clear example, of a systematic, stream of scholars, of any sect or direction, that are trying to make people believe that earth is flat.”
Arghhh, you see, you are still doing it. But I guess that is the only thing that is important to you right? With all the wrong things that is being done in the name of islam, that is what you care about. You choose to be blind, I don’t.

“anything that indicates any presence of any tendency or patern at all, at all, of people that either believe or preach that earth is flat.”
😀 This is just stupid. But If you are looking for a theme, I suggest you take a look to the state of muslims around the world, I don’t know what a more obvious theme will be. What’s sad is that some just refuse to see.

” or you apologize in public for making that false statement and take it back”
Apologize for what and to whom? I say, sue me.

    🙂

  • This really sucks!

What I hate, is how the cleric says that “according to Islamic Sharia law …”, instead of saying that killing Micky Mouse is his own personal idiotic idea. This is why Islam always takes the fall for the stupidity of the clerics that speak in the name of Islam. It’s because of the vanity of such clerics, that firmly believe that they represent God, and Islam, and the Sharia, and that whatever stupidity they utter is just as holy as the teachings of Islam! This is thanks to the general belief that whatever clerics say is holy and sacred, and their words are treated as universal truths. And also because as a society that emphasizes religion and its role in everyday life, we hail such idiots as idols who deserve our worship. It’s also because they are paid by the Saudi government for the sole purpose of issuing as many bizarre fatwas as possible.

Seriously, I think that another cleric (preferably a sane one, if there are any to begin with), should issue a Fatwa of killing any cleric that dares to speak in the name of Islam, and in the name of God (especially when it’s absolute rubbish). According to Islam, Gabriel descended upon Muhammad and taught him the holy scriptures. So I think that only The Prophet was allowed to speak in the name of Islam. As far as I know, Gabriel didn’t descend upon this silly pig, and tell him that Micky Mouse should be killed!

Although I am curious, how the hell did the conservation become so silly and superficial, to reach the extent of discussing mice?!

The major issue, is that such stupid statements have grave repercussions. First, is that educated Muslims need to exert more energy and more effort to battle such stupid statements, and whatever buzz it generates in Western media, we end up having to defend our religion because of such statements. Second, it repels those who are Muslim (such as myself) from wanting to have any associations with Islam at all! Seriously, it’s these statements that make me again question whatever intention I may have to actually practice being a Muslim. It creates this bizarre identity crisis, in which you believe in Islam, but do not want to practice it, because it comes with the burden of facing an enormous responsibility, which is trying to defend it from such silly practices.

We are our are own worse enemy.

  • Aba Abdellah Omar Ibno Abi Adey,
can I call you Aba for short 🙂

3ala el mawt? Death? You mean I should die? Or maybe get killed? Am I your enemy? The first thing that came to your mind is death? I mean come on. This is just stereotypical.

And he said it all? All? Nothing left to say? Nothing at all?

  • Aba Abdellah Omar Ibno Abi Adey, forget about him man, he is a lost case, dont waste anymore time on him, he doesnt read what i write, and when he does it doesnt pass through his eyes.

i am not wasting any more time on him myself. specially after he failed to back up his twisted claim, and failed to be decent enough to apologize for it too.

i prefer to run to my 2a6ayif 😀

    see you later man 🙂

  • Decent enough? According to who? To you? Mesh 3eb 3lek hek? And what claim are you talking about? The one that you gave and then started to debate your self?

“he doesnt read what i write, and when he does it doesnt pass through his eyes.’
What the hell was that? Are you trying to say that my eyes act like mirrors? HAHAHA what a dumb metaphor.

“i am not wasting any more time on him myself”
Oh puhleease, educate me, I need to see the light through your ignorance..

And run for the 2a6ayef 7abibi, run..

  • As an outsider looking in … I think to myself … “Wow, so it’s not just us western, Christians who have to deal with these voices.”

Only we get it with both barrels of the shotgun.

On one side we have some fundamentalists get all crazed over a big stuffed purple puppet with a voice even more annoying than Micky Mouse named Tinky Winky. Speculation was with regards to his/her/its gender orientation, and if one let their children watch him/her/it too long, soon they’d “catch gay.”

When I was asked, I responded it was a non-starter – that if Christianity is so weak that a purple puppet can derail its tenets, then what good is it? That usually ended the discussion and I could go on watching PBS.

On the other side we had humanists who blew a gasket over the antics of a cartoon rabbit, duck, coyote and road-runner whose physical comedy was only outdone by the ‘between the lines’ social commentary. The arguments by the politically correctness police was that soon children would eat carrots, blow-up Elmer Fudd like hunters by putting their fingers the barrels of loaded guns and say “what’s up doc” a lot.

When I was asked, I responded it was stupid – that if our humanistic public education system is so weak that a silly cartoon duck with a speech impediment could derail it, then humanism is no threat to me … though I do sorely miss my Bugs Bunny funnies on Saturday mornings.

Point is, all cultures have their extreme voices. The trick is to point out that in reality, the teachings of our faiths and doctrines have much more influence than some over-commercialized rodent invention of the Disney company ever will.

Or in the converse, the only power these caricatures has is that which we allow them to have through our over-reactions to them.

  • I agree with Dean Peters, this is not the first time a popular children character gets symbolized in a wrong way by fundamentalists, religious figures, or homophobics. Teletubbies is now wrongfully perceived with gay symbolism, that it’s hard now to take that away. Attaching wrong symbols to children programs is not an exclusive doing of Islamic scholars, but that does not mean it is right to do so. Dragging religion or other political correctness agendas into children TV entertainment is most of the time a load of nonsense!

  • I just felt the urge to insult this so called scholar, I dont know what will be allowed here so I just want to register my intent that this idiot needs to be disrespected and ignored for what he said and consequently what he is doing to us …cant he find a more worthwhile issue to discuss? Mickey mouse and tom and jerry shaped my imagination as a child they are good and you are evil…you need to go to hell you ignorant freak!

  • Khalid Jarrar wrote:

“the only part that is questionable is that he called them jonood il shay6an, that as far as i know -and i did some little search- is not true. and its not true not because it doesnt make sense to you, muhanned, its not true because there doesnt seem to be any 7adeeth to back it up. if there is, it would be. its not his job to make you believe it, and its not an issue of if it sounds reasonable to you, its the issue of if its correct sharee3a-wise.”

This statement sums up the problem and the main disease with the Muslims today, namely, their blind acceptance of the dubious fairytales (at best) and pack of lies (at worst) contained in the volumes of books that are self-titled “A7adeeth Sa7ee7a” (the true sayings of the prophet).

For example, Mr. Jarrar says he did some research (meaning, he went back to these books), and has the audacity to make the astounding statement that whatever he finds in those books should be accepted regardless of whether it makes sense or not.

You see, to people like him, common sense is irrelevant and a side issue. It’s much easier that way. Why the hell examine these a7adeeth and employ our logical faculties to determine if what they say could have been uttered by Muhammad, since this gentlemen is also a believer in the Wahabist libel against our great prophet accusing him of failing to learn how to read and write!!!!

Mr. Jarrar is obviously comfortable in his ignorant cuckoon because he parrots the prevalent and shameful lie that the man who was sent by God as mercy to humankind was illiterate. That’s what you want to tell the world? That our example (Qudwa) could not bother to learn the alphabets of the language of the Holy Quran? Why? Was he dyslexic, pray tell? Was he retarded, God forbid? What a useless compilation of nonsense we are stuck with by the crimes of Bukhari and Muslim!! The word Ummi as used in the Quran means Muhammad was from Mecca, Umm Al Qura, and was not a bloody ignorant fool who cannot read and write, you blaspheming baboons!! You want to teach our kids that our prophet’s first words of revelation were “read” (Iqra’a), yet he was too lazy to teach himself this essential tool of communication and learning??

Ahhh, the permanent damage inflicted on the nation that produced Al Khawarizmi, Ibn Sina, Ibn Rushd, Al Biruni, Ibn Al Bitar, Ibn Khaldun, Ibn Hazm, Zyryab, Ibn Tufayl, and thousands others, by Wahabist clerics and their permanently deformed version of the great religion of Islam!!

But then again, that is not surprising, because the benefactors of this Mickey Mouse Sheikh have begun with the physical vestiges of Islam before they turned their wrath upon the spiritual. Does Mr. Jarrar know that the sect of his Mickey Mouse “scholar” has bulldozed every single physical proof of the existence of Islam in Mecca and Medina based on the insane pretext that they want to prevent the worshipping of shrines? Does he know that today every single mausoleum for every Sa7abi including the prophet’s immediate family has been permanently erased, forever and ever, except for the prophet’s tomb (they were prevented from destroying it by the British when their hordes were bent on completing their crime)? Does he know that the house where Sayyidna Muhammad was born in Mecca was demolished and is today a public toilet? I bet you he doesn’t, and now thinks I’m making this up. Well go to Mecca and ask them to show you where Muhammad was born, and only then will you discover the abyss of ignorance in which you mire.

And you have the temerity to discuss the filth of mice ya ummat Muhammad!! Our prophet’s birthplace is a bloody toilet, probably infested with mice, and we are wasting our time discussing the najaseh of Mickey Mouse???
