Tina Fey Returns To SNL For A Sarah Palin Impersonation

So it’s been the buzz of the Internet these past 24 hours or so: Tina Fey, the ex-head writer for Saturday Night Live returned to the show just to do a dead-on impersonation of Sarah Palin.

It has got to be one of the best political impersonations ever done on SNL and ranks right up there with Will Farrell’s Goerge W. Bush, Dana Carvey’s George Bush Sr., and Darrel Hammond’s Al Gore.

Meanwhile, Tina Fey was responsible for writing some of the funniest sketches on SNL during her tenure and now writes and stars in her own NBC show, “30 Rock”, which is also absolutely hilarious. Fey, in my book, has proven herself to be one of the funniest and smartest comic writers of all time, and – perhaps ironically considering the political undertones of this particular sketch – a new trailblazer for female comics.

Scoring the cover of Rolling Stone magazine this month is testament to that.

  • Yea I saw this yesterday on CNN it was featured for exactly what you said: a dead-on impersonation of Sarah Palin.

It’s not fair though they didn’t make fun of her enough-it’s almost a praising bit unlike those of Bushs/Clintons/McCain. After this I better see some Palin mocking on SNL, it’s only fair!

  • I’m going to sound like the ultra pathetic miserable, who can’t see the funny bit to it, except feel sorry for the great American nation, whose great wars of independence; overcoming civil wars and dignified politics, has descended to mere late night entertainment, and a matter of who sells more tabloids! It seems that the more trivial you are, the more likely for you to win popularity among the Britney-Spears-generations of celebrity obsessed culture, where people cheer stupidity and boo the intellectuals!

  • Tina Fey nailed that impersonation. If the Hillary spoofer had looked more like her I would have been even more confused. At first, I wondered where Tina Fey was! Funny twist of fate, about 12 years ago I worked with Tina Fey’s mom. Didn’t even know it until I bumped into some old colleagues at a professional meeting last year…

Oh, the link was broken hen I tried it. You might want to link directly to SNL’s website.
