“The more Qassam fire intensifies and the rockets reach a longer range, they will bring upon themselves a bigger shoah because we will use all our might to defend ourselves,” – Israel’s deputy defence minister, Matan Vilnai, refering to the current military operation in Gaza, stating that Palestinians would bring on themselves a “bigger shoah,” using the Hebrew word usually reserved only for the Nazi Holocaust of the Jews. His spokesman later tried to play down the force of his language, saying he meant only “disaster”. “He did not mean to make any allusion to the genocide,” the spokesman said. [source]
Talk about calling a spade a spade.
More than 70 Palestinians have been killed in the past four days.
Some of the dead include a six-month old boy, two 15 and 16-year-old siblings and a mother who was preparing breakfast for her kids.*
ahhh thank u for posting about gaza … i was very disappointed to say the least to see the lack of posts by arab bloggers on what is going on over there … farfoor got way more posts than the current situation :/
regarding the whole no no he didnt mean holocaust/genocide he just meant disaster … ok so he meant disaster … is that supposed to make it better somehow?
its like … i didnt say im going to murder you … i just said im going to take your life … whats the difference?
or maybe its only a holocaust when the victims are jewish …
may they rest in peace …
mo: euphemisms are always the best part about war and history. but a rose is a rose by any other name.
Israel never admits of any Holocaust except the Nazi one, so for them to admit it in Gaza is such a drawback for them. To correct the info, today only, 41 people were killed, half of them children. If all of Gaza residents were thrown in the sea, this will not move any arab to denounce the killings of innocent civilians under siege. When Gaza was in dark, I waited a few days until I saw a few bloggers posting about it.
All I can say is screw Hamas, Fateh, palestinain Authority and the Arab leaders. We are a dead nation
Ali: over 40 today, yes. but 70 in the past 4 days (as i said above)
according to jazeera the latest count is 55 murdered today
I have been discussing this declared Holocaust by deputy Defence minster,Matan Vilnai with lots of organisation and individual to initiate and bring about civil lawsuit against this war criminal,in matter of fact some people in the UK almost succeeded in arresting “Major-General Doron Almog stayed on board the El Al plane for two hours after it landed in London in September 2005 after being tipped off that a warrant had been issued for his detention”
60 shaheed, and 150 wounded most of them in a critical condition, http://www.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/17EB6162-8B3E-4DD7-92FE-A165FD5C791B.htm
Ironically, the BBC call it clashes…. to say nothing about CNN, Reuters and others “propagandistic” channels
Supposedly Hamas now governs Gaza. It seems to me a government would consider the cost to it’s own citizens when it allows rocket fire from territory it controls into the territory of an enemy. Especially a better armed enemy. I think it is reasonable to suppose that Hamas actively supports the launching of these rockets – by doing so they must understand the cost in doing so and are willing to absorb that cost.
Victimhood is all well and good but perhaps some rationality is called for too?
The Zionists are the 21st century Nazi’s! It makes me so angry that not enough is being done to stop this disaster. This is clearly a violation of human rights no questions asked!
Well maybe Israel needs to give palestinians their rights to stop the bloodshed and violence? Does this sounds rational to you ?????????????????????????
Did it even occur to you how misreable the palestinian people are?
As much as I disagree with Hamas, but Israel shall be wiped a little from the whole world.
Its a scare on human body.
“or maybe its only a holocaust when the victims are jewish …”
“As much as I disagree with Hamas, but Israel shall be wiped a little from the whole world.”
WTF kind of backwards comments are these… pathetic.
