It was indeed a sad day for music when black singers went from Jazz to Rap/hip hop. I hope they regress at some point.
Hani: I think what miller was referring to the fact that there is a coolness about hip hop but that coolness also existed before there was hip hop. Hip hop is the new jazz, and it represents a similar act of rebellion and expression.
I would argue that rap is something all together different.
