A few days ago I posted about an ad a couple of naive Hollywood stars and starlets had taken out in the LA Times condemning Hamas and Hizballah while going out of their way to not to make a mention of Israel. I admit, being a movie buff, I had paused for a moment to contemplate the future of my movie watching experience and whether this would actually make an impact. But it was only a moment. Hollywood isn’t exactly the epitome of western intellectualism so seeing its biggest stars becoming political is like watching Kevin Federline trying to rap.
But today I recieved an interesting forward and by interesting I mean stupid. Scrolling down I noticed it had not been forwarded to many people yet so perhaps I’ve caught it in its infancy and if that’s true then hopefully you can throw it in your junk mail.
Someone has taken their time and photoshop skills to create an email so profound I just had to post it here. The forward shows photos of Hollywood actors and then a quote in Arabic written beneath them. It includes the likes of Al Pacino, Will Smith, Ralph Finnes (apparently they couldn’t find a good picture so they used the poster from The English Patient), and a rather buxom Angelina Jolie.
It really begs the question of whether one can fight stupidity with stupidity and whether it’s idiocy that emerges victorious.
I cut a few of my favorites and decided to post them here with their translations…
The crazy Tom Cruise says…
“The Arabs are the source of terrorism because they havn’t left anyone that they haven’t attacked and I hope that Israel annihilates Hizballah”
“The Arabs are a parasite on the world and it’s necessary to exterminate them all”
“If the Arabs were the strong ones they would have exterminated the whole world and for that it is necessary to exterminate them”
“Humanity no longer exists because Israel exists.”
“Bush, Sharon, Blair, Olmert and Condoleezza Rice are names that history will forever damn”
Sir Anthony Hopkins says…
“Israel’s name means war and devastation and we (America) are the reason behind this war and I am ashamed to be an American citizen”
