The measure of human stupidity is infinite…
Three knife-wielding Muslims attacked worshipers at Coptic churches in Egypt’s second city of Alexandria on Friday, killing one and wounding at least 12, police and medical sources said.
The assailants, each armed with two knives, mounted almost simultaneous attacks on churchgoers in three separate neighborhoods and were later arrested, a police official said on condition of anonymity.
“The attacker stormed the church armed with a knife and shouted ‘There is no God but Allah’ and ‘Allah is the greatest’ before stabbing the worshipers,” one of the Mar Girgis church employees said. [source]
Gimmie a break! This kind of thing makes me so frustrated. Where do these people come from? Who the heck is teaching them or not teaching them?! Where does it say anywhere in our religion that Christians should be attacked and their churches too?! It says the exact opposite!
Did not Allah check one set of people by means of another, there would surely have been pulled down monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques, in which the name of Allah is commemorated in abundant measure. Allah will certainly aid those who aid his (cause);- for verily Allah is full of Strength, Exalted in Might, (able to enforce His Will). (Al-Hajj: 39-40)
Wow. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, Egypt’s got a problem, and it may get worse.
As a Muslim, I condemn these acts and say that these killers would be sentenced to death under Islamic rules.
Natalia, I second that!
Nar, I second that!
If only journalists would take the initiative and clearly write â??Three knife-wielding men claiming to be Muslims attacked worshippers, etc.â? instead of just saying â??Three Muslims,â? because then, the journalist would make it clear that this is NOT ISLAM, and these lunatics are on crack and intent on making me miserable.
I’m seconding (Fourthing??) all the opinions above!
Man!!!
That is so stupid!!
Nas, very thoughtful perspective. Thanks
What is the proper name for the verse at the end …?
Caren, you mean “Al-Hajj”? it means “The Pilgrimage”
Nas, thanks for your faithfulness to blog about violence against Christians too! I would feel much more comfortable if more Muslims held yoru perspective.
Nas — thanks so much for the comment on my blog. I’ve made the correction on two sites, hopefully getting it at least “more right” this time.
it is completely wrong. as a muslim, when i hear things like this, it drives me insane
