
I laughed for a good 5 minutes after seeing Emad Hajjaj’s latest caricature on the bird flu. I can’t translate it because it wouldn’t make sense (or do it justice) and I suppose only Jordanians can really appreciate the humor. It made me nostalgic to say the least. This reminded me of many years back when the mad cow disease was still a ‘new thing’ and when someone bought a British chocolate bar (think milk) you’d get similar crazy reactions (mostly from hungry school kids).
So if you don’t want to have people running in all directions as you walk down the street these days…beware of bird droppings!
If you don’t kiss chickens, you’ll probably be okay.

The potential of pandemic is always there — but I don’t think it’s time to be concerned, yet. (Except, possibly, about the pandemic of idiocy in the press.)
